A North Devon based dancer and choreographer, who has trained students across the world to become qualified dance teachers, is offering a unique opportunity at her Teacher Training Centre in Barnstaple.

Sarah Clements, owner and director of Unlimited Dance Company, is inviting dancers looking to progress in their career, the ability to gain an internationally recognised dance teacher qualification. This will enable them to teach dance and even open their own dance studio anywhere in the world. As the only Teacher Training Centre in the South West of England, this is a unique opportunity for aspiring dance teachers to gain the IDTA Ballet Level 3 and 4 diplomas.

Sarah says, “The IDTA Ballet Level 4 diploma is one of the most important qualifications to hold in the world of dance and offers so many opportunities to teach dance in the UK and around the world. Our expert teaching team, based here at Unlimited Dance Company, pride ourselves on training our teachers to the highest standards with a 100% pass rate for all our students and many achieving distinctions. We have trained dancers across the world including Abu Dhabi, Spain, Ireland and the Highlands and now we are offering this incredible opportunity for local dancers to train with us and gain this internationally recognised qualification right here in Barnstaple.”

Sarah has been dancing from the age of three and teaching for the past four decades. Her qualification has given her lots of opportunities including opening her own successful dance school at Mill Road, Barnstaple in 2010. With her teaching experience and 100% pass rate, she is now hoping to train the next generation of dance teachers.

Ellie Dunn also started dancing at UDC the age of three and now, following her teacher training with Sarah, is a Dance Teacher there. “It was great to do my teacher training in such an inspiring environment with teachers who shared their experience with me, giving me the confidence to follow this career path. The course is delivered face to face the Studios in Barnstaple with online support too which meant I had consistent support from Sarah. The course has been life changing for me, giving me the opportunity to gain this prestigious qualification and live my ultimate goal as a full-time Dance teacher in all genres.”

Becky Coleman trained with Sarah and now runs her own successful dance school in Reading. She says, “Attending UDC teacher training has allowed me to open new doors and keep progressing my own development as well as the children I teach. The course was clear to follow as well as having encouraging leaders who assist every step of the way. UDC welcomes everyone with a smile and will cooperate with you to work out the best timeline to continue your learning. The support was amazing and I recommend to anyone who is thinking of training to be a dance teacher.”

Sarah Clements has a hugely successful dancing CV. After training with the renowned Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden, she went on to dance alongside Bonnie Langford, Claud Paul Henry and Nigel Lythgoe as well as appearing in West End Productions of Wizard of Oz, Bugsy Malone, My Fair Lady and Brigadoon. Sarah moved to North Devon in 2010 to pursue her dream of creating her own dance school and teacher training centre.

Unlimited Dance Company currently have more than 300 students learning genres including ballet, tap and lyrical and street. Each year Sarah and her team of teachers choreograph a successful dance show which showcases the work of all their students as well as their elite and company dancers to the general public.
